Friday is Professionals’ Day, with a full day of programming designed for professionals working with the foster care and adoption triads.
Saturday is the General Conference, with over 20 workshops to choose from. All members of the adoption and foster care constellations as well as professionals will be able to find workshops of interest.

How do I get there?
Friday, March 24th – First Unitarian Church – Wendte Hall
The First Unitarian Church is located near Downtown Oakland. We encourage the use of public transportation when attending this conference due to the urban location of this conference, parking is limited. The site is on 14th St. at Castro St., right next to the 980 Freeway and near downtown Oakland, CA. This site is fully wheelchair accessible.
Exit at the 12th Street Oakland/ City Center Station. Head NE on Broadway toward 14th street. Turn left onto 14th Street. The First Unitarian Church is located on the left. This is approximately a 10-minute walk.
Via AC Transit
The church is approximately 4 blocks west of the 12th Street Oakland City Center BART station, between Martin Luther King, Jr. Way and Castro St. Several AC Transit bus lines, including the 14 and the 62, pass near the church.
From Berkeley, Richmond and points north, or west:
Take the 580 freeway to the 980 freeway toward downtown Oakland. Take the 18th/14th Street off-ramp onto Brush St. Turn left on 14th and cross over the freeway. The church is on your right (first building after crossing the freeway).
From Contra Costa County and points east:
Take the 24 freeway westbound, which becomes the 980 freeway near downtown Oakland. Take the 18th/14th Street off-ramp onto Brush St. Turn left on 14th and cross over the freeway. The church is on your right (first building after crossing the freeway).
From Hayward and points south:
Take the 880 freeway North to the 980 freeway. Exit at 11th/14th Street. Merge right and go three blocks to 14th Street. Make a right on 14th Street. The church is on the corner.
Metered parking is usually available on Castro St., some on 14th St., and around the corner on Martin Luther King, Jr. Way. You can also park at the Clay St. garage at 14th & Clay. The entrance is on Clay.
Accessible Parking: There is one curbside parking space designated for handicap use in front of the church and one on Castro St. just North of the light at 14th St.
Saturday, March 25th – St. Paul’s Episcopal School
St. Paul’s School is located in the Adams Point neighborhood on the northwest corner of historic Lake Merritt. We encourage the use of public transportation when attending this conference, due to the urban location of this conference parking is limited.
Via AC Transit
Take the AC Transit 12 local or N Transbay buses, these buses will stop in close proximity to St. Paul’s Church located on Montecito Avenue and Bay Place. Walk up Montecito to 124 Montecito Avenue for registration.
From San Francisco
Take US-101 S, Take the I-80 E Ramp toward the Bay Bridge, Take I-580 E, Exit Harrison Street, Turn Right onto Harrison St., Left onto Bay Place, Left onto Montecito Ave. Registration is at St. Paul’s Gym Complex located at 124 Montecito Avenue.
From Walnut Creek
Take CA-24 W, Take the 27th St. Exit toward W. Grand Ave., Turn left on 27th St., Slight left onto Bay Place, Left onto Montecito Ave. Registration is at St. Paul’s Gym Complex located at 124 Montecito Avenue.
Paid parking is available at 699 Belleview Avenue Oakland, CA (Fairyland Parking Lot). The cost is $5 for the day. Walking Directions from parking lot to registration: Turn left onto Grand Avenue, Make a slight right onto Bay Place, turn right onto Montecito Avenue.
Street parking is available but limited. Parking is available in the residential area of Montecito as well some metered parking along Grand Avenue and Bay Place. Please not that if you do use metered parking you will need to feed the meter every 1-2 hours.
A drop off/pick up zone is located directly in front of 124 Montecito Avenue for participants with disabilities.
Please DO NOT park in the Senior Center Parking Lot
What are the meal options provided?
Lunch on both days will include a vegetarian option. We apologize but we cannot accommodate any other dietary requests. There are several restaurants with gluten-free and vegan options in the area.
Light snacks and beverages will be offered throughout the day.
